Position Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Physical Therapist for a full-time, direct-hire opportunity within a hospital setting. The Physical Therapist will evaluate, treat, and help prevent physical disabilities, injuries, and other health conditions while supporting patient recovery and functional independence. This role primarily focuses on treating adult and senior populations and collaborating with interdisciplinary care teams to deliver high-quality outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform comprehensive physical therapy evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Provide therapeutic interventions for injury, illness, and functional limitations using evidence-based techniques.
• Utilize a variety of treatment modalities including therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, mobilization, and assistive devices.
• Perform and interpret clinical tests and measurements to assess functional deficits and guide treatment planning.
• Support diagnosis, prognosis, and discharge planning through clinical assessment and documentation.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.
• Participate in department orientation and ongoing training initiatives.
• Promote quality patient care and contribute to in-service education for staff.
• Deliver care tailored to adult and geriatric patient populations.
Minimum Requirements
• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program (Bachelor’s degree or higher).
• Active New York State Physical Therapy license or eligibility for licensure.
• Hospital-based clinical experience required.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association required within 6 months of hire.
• Ability to communicate effectively and interact constructively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
• Successful completion of departmental orientation requirements.
• Influenza vaccination required (no exemptions permitted).
