Resident Assistant

Mercy Ridge is looking to hire a Resident Assistant on an as needed (PRN) basis in our Assisted Living Department. This position is a non-exempt position and does require a Geriatric Nursing License (GNA). Under the direct supervision of the Resident Care Manager and/or Administrator of Assisted Living, the incumbent is responsible for providing care to residents to enhance the lives of each resident in the Assisted Living environment.

Essential Functions:

• Performs direct and indirect care to resident to include activities such as:
• Bathing, feeding, toileting, performing grooming activities, oral hygiene, cleaning all body areas as needed and denture care
• Measuring intake and output of urine
• Monitors and assists as appropriate in dining room during meal times
• Ensures that the residents laundry is clean and maintained
• Light housekeeping duties in residents rooms
• Transferring residents from bed, chair and wheelchair
• Positioning residents in chairs, beds, wheelchairs, turning and changing position of residents, and lifting resident
• Performing active range of motion with the Residents
• Making occupied and unoccupied beds
• Weighing residents, taking vital signs
• Practicing universal precautions
• Documents care in electronic medical record
