About the Role:
The CT Tech/Xray Tech plays a critical role in the diagnostic imaging process by operating computed tomography (CT) and X-ray equipment to produce high-quality images for medical evaluation. This position requires precision and attention to detail to ensure accurate imaging while prioritizing patient safety and comfort. The role involves collaborating closely with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to assist in diagnosing medical conditions. The CT Tech/Xray Tech must maintain strict adherence to radiation safety protocols and equipment maintenance standards. Ultimately, this position contributes significantly to patient care by providing essential imaging services that support effective treatment planning.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
- Certification as a Radiologic Technologist (ARRT or equivalent).
- Valid state licensure to perform radiologic procedures in the United States.
- Demonstrated experience operating CT and X-ray imaging equipment.
- Knowledge of radiation safety standards and patient care protocols.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced certification in CT imaging (ARRT-CT or equivalent).
- Experience working in a hospital or clinical setting with diverse patient populations.
- Familiarity with Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) and Radiology Information System (RIS).
- Strong interpersonal skills for patient interaction and multidisciplinary collaboration.
- Continuing education in radiologic technology and imaging advancements.
Responsibilities:
- Operate CT and X-ray imaging equipment to capture diagnostic images as ordered by physicians.
- Prepare and position patients appropriately to ensure optimal image quality and patient comfort.
- Review images for clarity and accuracy, making adjustments as necessary before submission to radiologists.
- Maintain and calibrate imaging equipment to ensure proper functioning and compliance with safety standards.
- Adhere to radiation safety protocols to minimize exposure to patients, staff, and self.
- Document patient information and imaging procedures accurately in medical records.
- Communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures and address any concerns.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to facilitate timely and accurate diagnostic processes.
