Certified Surgical Technologist CVOR

This Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) – CVOR role is based in Salem, VA at a 500+ bed acute care hospital with a designated Heart Center specializing in heart and vascular care, as well as orthopedics and spine, behavioral health, and cancer care.

The role. The CST will work primarily in the cardiovascular operating room, scrubbing C-sections and maintaining command of the surgical instrumentation required for those procedures. The position requires registering and pre-registering obstetric patients, processing patient information, and performing infant testing tasks as directed by the Registered Nurse. The technologist is also responsible for maintaining the integrity of the physical environment and equipment throughout each case.

What we're looking for.

• Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program required (or grandfathered in by the state of Virginia)
• Active Surgical Technician license with the State of Virginia required
• BLS certification required within 90 days of employment start date
• Knowledge of medical terminology required
• 1–2 years of scrub or hospital experience preferred
• Ability to frequently stand, bend, reach, squat, kneel, and lift patients and/or equipment up to 50 pounds
