An AmLaw 50 firm is seeking an Investment Funds Associate Attorney to join its Charlotte office. This opportunity is ideal for an attorney looking to work on sophisticated investment management and fund formation matters within a nationally recognized and rapidly expanding Investment Funds platform.
The firm is seeking a motivated associate with strong investment funds experience who is interested in handling complex fund formation and investment management matters across a broad range of alternative investment strategies and asset classes.
The RoleAssociates in this position may work on matters involving:
- Private equity fund formation
- Hedge funds and venture capital funds
- Real estate and hybrid funds
- BDCs, interval funds, and closed-end funds
- Investment management and regulatory matters
- Sponsor-side representation
- Fund structuring and governance matters
- Ongoing operational and compliance counseling for investment fund clients
Attorneys will work closely with sophisticated sponsors, investment managers, and institutional clients on high-value and strategically significant fund matters.
Ideal Background- 4–6 years of investment management and fund formation experience
- Experience representing private funds and investment managers required
- Strong drafting, analytical, and negotiation skills
- Entrepreneurial mindset and strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage sophisticated matters in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
- Interest in client development and direct client interaction
- JD from an ABA-accredited law school with strong academic credentials required
- North Carolina Bar admission preferred or ability to waive in
- AmLaw 50 platform with nationally recognized Investment Funds practice
- Sophisticated fund formation and investment management work
- Significant client-facing responsibility and hands-on experience
- Rapidly expanding Charlotte platform with strong growth potential
- Collaborative and entrepreneurial team environment
Compensation: $275,000–$390,000 DOE
