Physical Therapist Assistant: Outpatient – Travel Contract
Location: Monterey, CA (Not the right fit? We have additional PTA opportunities available throughout California.)
Pay: $1,800-1,900 per week
Contract Length: 13 weeks (extension possible)
Schedule: Day shifts | 36–40 hours per week

We’re looking for a motivated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join a busy Outpatient Clinic in Monterey, CA. Responsibilities

  • Conduct outpatient physical therapy sessions under supervision, using prescribed plans.

  • Assist patients with therapeutic exercises and manual therapy techniques as directed.

  • Monitor patient responses to treatment and report adverse events promptly.

  • Adhere to HIPAA, organizational policies, and safety standards at all times.

  • Document patient progress and outcomes in electronic health records accurately.

  • Assist in patient education for home exercise programs and self-management.

  • Collaborate with therapists to adjust treatment plans based on measurable progress.

  • Maintain clinic workflow efficiency to meet daily patient targets and utilization metrics.

  • Prepare treatment spaces, equipment, and supplies for daily sessions.

  • Support professional development through participation in trainings and skill-building activities.

  • Demonstrate reliability by consistently showing up on-site and meeting scheduled shifts.


Experience/Qualifications

  • Licensed physical therapist assistant in applicable California state with current certification.

  • Outpatient PT assistant duties under supervision with prescribed treatment plans.

  • Proficiency in documenting progress in electronic health records accurately.

  • Strong knowledge of HIPAA, privacy, and safety standards in clinic.

  • Ability to monitor patient responses and report adverse events promptly.

  • Experience guiding patients through home exercise programs and self-management.

  • Collaboration skills to adjust treatment plans with therapists based on progress.

  • Ability to prepare treatment spaces, equipment, and supplies for daily sessions.

  • Reliability to maintain consistent on-site presence and adhere to shifts.

  • Demonstrated commitment to professional development and skill-building activities.
