Job Description
WHAT WE OFFER.
- $15.00 per hour to attend the class
- $22.48- $23.97 per hour after graduated from CNA Class (includes direct care worker supplement).

1. Handling and serving residents in a manner conducive to their safety and comfort.
2. Adhering to instructions and care plans.
3. Performing duties in accordance with established methods and techniques and in conformance with recognized standards.
4. Assists residents during admission, daily cares, death and transfer.
5. Give baths – partial, bed and whirlpool.
6. Give shampoos – set hair.
7. Cut and clean fingernails and toenails.
8. Brush teeth and give oral care.
9. Make beds.
10. Empty and disinfect bedpans, commodes, urinals and empty wastebaskets.
11. Obtain vital signs.
12. Recognize and report resident changes in condition.
13. Record weights and heights.
14. Collect urine, stool and sputum specimens.
15. Use mechanical transfer equipment according to designated procedure. Follow Body Mechanics rules.
16. Pass and collect trays, feed residents, pass nourishments.
17. Turn and position residents per care plan.
18. Ambulate residents per care plan.
19. Shave residents daily as needed.
20. Report any falls or occurrences outside of normal routine to the Charge Nurse.
21. Report any suspected and/or allegations of abuse/neglect immediately to the Charge Nurse.
22. Report defective equipment to supervisor and maintenance.
23. Assist and/or accompany transport vehicle driver as necessary.
24. Transport residents to activities or therapies per care plans.
25. Toilet residents upon awakening, after and after meals, on rounds and prn.
26. Rinse soiled linen per policy.
27. Attend mandatory meetings and at least twelve (12) hours in-service annually. Take responsibility for renewing certification in a timely manner.
28. Clean and disinfect equipment from discharged or expired residents and take to Central Supply.
29. Answer resident’s call bells as quickly as possible – relay messages.
30. Clean closets and drawers on bath day.
31. Assist with application and removal of protective devices, such as side rails, footboards, bed cradles and protectors.
32. Follow night cleaning duties.
33. Pass fresh H2O.
34. Answer telephones, when necessary.
35. Record I & O.
36. Sign-out and set-up O2 tanks. Do not turn on oxygen or set liter flow. Monitor O2 tank levels.
37. Document according to guidelines.
38. Follow rules as outlined in Resident’s Rights and Corporate Compliance.
39. Follow Infection Control policies and procedures.
40. Assist with CPR emergencies.
41. Maintain confidentiality per HIPPA regulation and ICMCF policy.
42. Respond to and investigate all alarms to ensure resident safety.
43. Other nursing duties as directed by the Administrator, Director of Nursing or ADON.
44. Adhere to ICMCF Code of Conduct.
45. Investigate all alarms to assure safety of residents.
46. Follow established policy and procedures of the ICMCF, including wearing of gait belts, following dress code, etc.
