Multidirectional Forklift Operator

JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a skilled and safety conscious Multidirectional Forklift Operator to join our warehouse and material handling team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating multidirectional or side-loader forklifts and will be responsible for the safe, efficient movement and storage of materials, particularly long or oversized loads within our facility.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED required.
3 years of experience operating multidirectional, side-loader, or 4-directional forklifts in a warehouse, steel yard, or manufacturing environment.
Forklift certification (multidirectional or equivalent) required.
Must successfully pass background checks, drug screening, physical, audiogram, and vision test.

Preferred:
Experience handling long materials such as beams, pipes, or lumber.
Familiarity with inventory management systems or barcode scanners.
Additional certifications in material handling or heavy equipment operation.

QUALIFICATIONS
Proficient in safe forklift operation and maneuvering long or oversized materials in narrow spaces.
Ability to conduct daily equipment inspections and report maintenance needs promptly.
Basic understanding of inventory control systems, scanners, or warehouse software.
Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and company policies related to material handling.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently or collaboratively within a team.
Good communication skills and situational awareness in fast-paced environments.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Safely operate multidirectional forklifts to transport, load, and unload materials (steel, lumber, fabricated components).
Maneuver long and bulky materials efficiently through tight spaces and narrow aisles.
Perform daily pre-shift inspections on forklifts to ensure operational safety.
Report equipment issues or maintenance requirements to supervisors promptly.
Assist with inventory control, order picking, and staging of materials for production or shipment.
Maintain accurate movement records using barcode scanners or inventory software.
Adhere to OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
Use required personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow established load securement procedures.
Work closely with production teams, shipping personnel, and supervisors to support efficient material flow.

Communicate clearly regarding material locations, shortages, and workflow updates.
