What You’ll Do
As a Custodian, you’ll take pride in maintaining multiple campus buildings and outdoor areas. Your responsibilities will include:
- Keeping floors, stairs, and walkways clean and safe through sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and vacuuming
- Cleaning and restocking restrooms to ensure a sanitary, well-maintained environment
- Collecting and disposing of trash and recycling
- Polishing fixtures and cleaning windows, mirrors, and glass surfaces
- Maintaining carpets and floors (including shampooing, striping, sealing, and polishing)
- Dusting surfaces, furniture, and equipment to keep spaces tidy and allergen-free
- Supporting building upkeep by replacing light bulbs and reporting repair needs
- Assisting with seasonal duties like snow removal to keep pathways accessible
- Responding to spills and unexpected cleaning needs quickly and efficiently
- Locking/unlocking buildings and helping ensure campus safety
- Working collaboratively with team members while providing friendly service to students and staff
What We’re Looking For
- 6 months to 1 year of custodial, janitorial, or cleaning experience preferred
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Ability to work on your feet for extended periods and handle physical tasks
- Comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs and performing bending/squatting movements
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Positive, customer-service-oriented attitude
- Flexibility to work:
- 1st Shift: Monday–Friday, 7 Am – 3:30 PM
- 3rd Shift: Sunday night–Friday morning, 10:00 PM – 6:30 AM
Bonus if you have:
- Experience with commercial cleaning equipment (floor scrubbers, etc.)
- Leadership experience in custodial or janitorial roles

Work Environment
You’ll work across a dynamic campus that includes academic buildings, residence halls, student centers, and athletic facilities. This role is active and fast-paced, requiring movement throughout your assigned zone using standard custodial tools and equipment.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $15.50 - $15.50/hr.
