About This RoleAs an Operating Room RN at NVRH, you will provide comprehensive perioperative nursing care across all phases of the surgical experience including pre-operative, intraoperative, and post-anesthesia recovery.This dynamic role requires versatility, as you will serve as a circulator, scrub nurse, and PACU nurse, with opportunities to cross-train and expand your clinical skill set. In our critical access hospital setting, your contributions are highly visible and directly impact patient outcomes.This position includes participation in the on-call rotation, requiring one night per week and every fourth weekend, with a requirement to respond and be ready to begin a case within 30 minutes when on call.Key Responsibilities Deliver perioperative nursing care across all surgical phases, including pre-op preparation, intraoperative care, and PACU recovery Function in multiple roles, including circulator, scrub nurse, and PACU RN to support safe and efficient surgical operations Ensure patient safety and clinical excellence through adherence to AORN standards, accurate documentation, and participation in surgical safety processes such as time-outs Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and the interdisciplinary team to deliver coordinated, high-quality patient careRequired Qualifications Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing Current Vermont or multi-state RN license required Minimum of two years of perioperative experience required Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association require Strong clinical judgment, communication, and critical thinking skills Ability to work across multiple perioperative roles, with training available to support skill developmentAbout NVRHNortheastern Vermont Regional Hospital is located in St. Johnsbury, Vermont, in the Northeast Kingdom.
