Maintenance Mechanic

Compensation: $35-$40 per hours
Location: Wharton, NJKey Responsibilities:

• Perform changeovers on production lines.
• Inspect tooling during changeovers and return it to storage, reporting any detected issues.
• Troubleshoot production equipment, making necessary repairs and adjustments.
• Respond to urgent equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime.
• Assist in line setups.
• Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of machinery, including lubrication and component checks.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used.
• Keep the tooling storage area organized.
• Work safely and maintain a safe worksite, inspecting production lines for hazards.
• Report safety issues for immediate resolution.
• Monitor plant equipment and report any unusual operations to the Plant Engineer or Manager.
• Share mechanical knowledge with team members.
• Train mechanic trainee workers on changeovers, troubleshooting, and repairs.
• Participate in new project work.
• Adhere to company policies while being flexible to changes in job responsibilities.
• Maintain air compressors, vacuum pumps, and other plant equipment.
• Perform welding, machine shop work, and part fabrication.
• Place orders and maintain cleanliness in storage spaces.
• Rearrange machines and changeover parts as needed.

Desired Skills:

• Proven mechanical ability, demonstrated through tests and observation.
• Proficient in using hand tools and trade tools; must own proper hand tools (Metric and Standard).
• High level of mental and visual effort required.
• Strong background in mechanical and electrical problem-solving.
• Knowledge of electricity, preferably from formal training.
• Familiarity with the operation of all production equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical control schematics.
• Willingness to perform various maintenance tasks, including cleaning and inventory assistance.
• Flexibility to adapt to new tasks as needed.
• Timely completion of assigned tasks.
• Strong teamwork skills and ability to contribute to training others.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English (reading and speaking).
• Availability for occasional overtime and Saturday work.
