Job Description

We are looking for Fleet Mechanic for an awesome manufacturing company. With CDL-A sign on bonus increases to $5000.00. The openings available are (1) on 2nd shift and (1) on 3rd shift.


Key Responsibilities

  • Fleet maintenance — Inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel and gas truck systems including engines, brakes, suspensions, electrical systems, and drivetrains.
  • Refrigeration repair — Service, troubleshoot, and repair transport refrigeration units (Thermo King, Carrier, etc.) including compressors, evaporators, condensers, electrical circuits, and control systems.
  • Preventive maintenance — Perform scheduled PMs on trucks, trailers, and reefer units to reduce breakdowns and extend equipment life.
  • Diagnostics — Use diagnostic tools and software to identify mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Emergency repairs — Respond to breakdowns or reefer failures to keep loads protected and trucks operational.
  • Documentation — Complete work orders, repair logs, and parts usage in the maintenance system.
  • Safety compliance — Follow DOT, EPA, and company safety standards including proper handling of refrigerants.
  • Collaboration — Communicate with drivers, dispatch, and operations to coordinate repairs and equipment availability.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Mechanical aptitude — Strong understanding of diesel engines, electrical systems, hydraulics, and trailer components.
  • Refrigeration knowledge — Ability to diagnose and repair refrigeration systems, electrical faults, and control issues.
  • Diagnostic proficiency — Experience using scan tools, multimeters, gauges, and refrigeration testing equipment.
  • Safety awareness — Knowledge of refrigerant handling, EPA requirements, and shop safety practices.
  • Experience level — Typically 2–5 years of fleet, diesel, or refrigeration maintenance experience.
