WeareseekingaLinguistIIItosupportourclientsmultilingualAIresearchinitiativesfocusedonlanguageunderstanding,ResponsibleAI,andlarge-scalelinguisticanalysis.Inthisrole,youwillpartnercloselywithresearchers,engineers,datascientists,andcross-functionalteamstoimproveAIsystemsacrossdiverselanguagesandculturalcontexts.
Theidealcandidatecombinesstrongacademicfoundationsinlinguisticswithhands-onanalyticalskills,strongresearchcommunication,andaninterestinAIandmultilingualtechnologies.
JobResponsibilities
- Performlinguisticanalysesonlargemultilingualdatasets
- ConductlinguisticerroranalysisofAImodeloutputsandidentifyfrequentorhigh-severityerrorcategories
- Write,refine,andmaintainguidelinesforannotationandtranslationworkflows
- Conductsociolinguistics,psycholinguistics,andpragmaticsresearchacrossmultiplelanguages,identifyingsimilaritiesanddistinctionsbetweenlinguisticsystems
- SupportResponsibleAIinitiativesthroughanalysisoftoxiclanguage,hatespeech,genderbias,andculturalbiasinmultilingualenvironments
- ConductliteraturereviewsonNLP-adjacentlinguistictopicsandsummarizeresearchfindings
- Evaluatelinguisticqualityacrossvendors,identifyrecurringissues,andprovideactionablefeedback
- Serveasasubjectmatterexpertacrossareasincludingtypology,syntax,morphology,phonetics/phonology,pragmatics,sociolinguistics,andlanguageclassification
- Collaboratewithnativespeakersandcross-functionalstakeholdersacrossgloballanguagecommunities
- Communicateresearchfindingsandlinguisticinsightstoengineersandresearchscientists
Qualifications
- Mustbenear-nativeproficientinalanguageotherthanEnglish,preferablyVietnamese,Dutch,Portuguese,orThai.
- MustbeabletocodeinPython(must)andquerydatabasesusingSQL,othercodinglanguagesusedfordataanalysis(e.g.,R)areaplus.
- Musthavestrongwrittenandspokencommunicationskills,especiallybusinessandresearchcommunication.
- Musthavesolidtheoreticalandpracticalfoundationsinthedynamicsofconversations(turntaking,repairs,interruptions,argumentation,persuasion,compromising,etc.)
- Workingknowledgeinotherlanguagesisaplus.Proficiencyinalow-resourcelanguageisvalued.
- Mustbeabletoindependentlyworkthroughcomplexrequestsandperformunderpressure.
