Job Description
Pioneer Pizza is looking for a strong, hospitality-driven leader to oversee the daily operations of our pizza restaurant and attached bar located beside The Grainery.
This is not a sit-in-the-office management position. This role is hands-on, floor-focused, and responsible for creating an exceptional guest experience while leading the team with energy, accountability, and urgency.
We are looking for someone who understands that hospitality comes first, details matter, and culture starts with leadership.
Core Responsibilities
Daily Operations
- Lead day-to-day restaurant and bar operations
- Ensure all opening, shift-change, and closing procedures are completed
- Maintain speed, accuracy, cleanliness, and food quality standards
- Oversee dine-in, carryout, delivery, and bar operations
- Manage labor effectively while maintaining service standards
- Ensure all cash handling and end-of-day procedures are accurate
Leadership & Team Accountability
- Lead by example on the floor at all times
- Coach, train, and develop team members
- Hold employees accountable to standards, procedures, appearance, and attitude
- Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training new employees
- Build a positive, high-energy team culture
- Address performance issues quickly and professionally
- Maintain proper staffing levels for all shifts
Hospitality & Guest Experience
- Deliver hospitality over service
- Touch tables and interact with guests throughout shifts
- Resolve guest concerns immediately and professionally
- Create an environment where guests feel welcomed, appreciated, and remembered
- Ensure music, lighting, cleanliness, and atmosphere match brand expectations
Bar Oversight
- Oversee bartender performance and professionalism
- Monitor alcohol service standards and compliance
- Ensure bar cleanliness, organization, and inventory accuracy
- Maintain liquor, beer, and mixer inventory levels
- Support special events and busy patio/service nights connected to The Grainery campus
Food Quality & Kitchen Coordination
- Ensure ticket times remain efficient and organized
- Verify food quality and consistency before leaving the kitchen
- Communicate effectively between kitchen and front-of-house teams
- Assist in maintaining prep, cleaning, and food safety standards
Administrative Responsibilities
- Assist with scheduling and shift coverage
- Complete nightly reports and operational checklists
- Monitor inventory and ordering needs
- Help implement systems, procedures, and operational improvements
- Communicate effectively with ownership and leadership team
Qualifications
- Restaurant management experience preferred
- Bar management experience is a plus
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to lead in high-volume environments
- Hospitality-first mindset
- Nights, weekends, and event availability required
- Ability to stay calm and organized under pressure
- Self-motivated with strong attention to detail
