Dental Hygienist Details

• Full Time Schedules

• Some weekends may be required

• 8 or 12 hour shifts available depending on the facility

• Contract Position (flexible with shift availability is a plus)

Dental Hygienist Duties

• Perform dental prophylaxis, scaling and root planning, fluoride treatments, and other preventative dental procedures

• Conduct comprehensive oral assessments to evaluate the inmates oral health status, dental conditions, and record findings in inmate charts

• Administer periodontal therapy, including subgingival scaling, root debridement, and periodontal maintenance procedures, to treat and manage periodontal disease.

• Capture dental radiographs as needed, ensuring proper positioning and exposure settings, and interpret images to aid in diagnosis and treatment planning.

• Provide individualized oral hygiene instructions to inmates, emphasizing proper burshing and flossing techniques, nutritional counseling, and strategies for maintaining oral health.

• Assist with dental emergencies within the facility

Dental Hygienist Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited educational institution

• Licensed as a Dental Hygienist by the State in which the position is located. The license MUST be in good standing

• 1+ year of relevant Dental Hygienist experience
