Orthopaedic Hand Surgeon

Location: St. Petersburg, FL

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Orthopaedic Hand Surgeon to join our growing orthopaedic and sports medicine team in St. Petersburg, Florida. The ideal candidate will specialize in the diagnosis, treatment, and surgical management of conditions affecting the hand, wrist, forearm, and upper extremities. This position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative, patient-centered environment with access to advanced surgical technology and a strong referral network.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and treat a wide range of hand and upper extremity conditions, injuries, and disorders
  • Perform surgical and non-surgical procedures related to the hand, wrist, elbow, and upper extremity
  • Develop individualized treatment plans focused on optimal patient outcomes
  • Collaborate with orthopaedic specialists, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and primary care providers
  • Provide consultations, follow-up care, and patient education
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and multidisciplinary case discussions
  • Stay current with advancements in orthopaedic hand surgery techniques and technologies
Qualifications
  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Orthopaedic Surgery
  • Fellowship training in Hand Surgery required
  • Active or eligible Florida medical license
  • Strong surgical and clinical skills in upper extremity care
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-focused care
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certificate of Added Qualifications (CAQ) in Hand Surgery
  • Experience with minimally invasive and microsurgical techniques
  • Interest in building and expanding a hand surgery program
  • Experience working in a multidisciplinary orthopaedic practice
