Job Summary
The Sanitation Team Member is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant manufacturing environment by performing thorough cleaning and sanitation of production areas and Heavy equipment. This role supports food safety and quality standards by following established sanitation procedures, adhering to site BPM, and working collaboratively within a team-driven plant environment. The position requires attention to detail, the ability to work with sanitation equipment, and a commitment to safety and efficiency.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Support all areas of the facility in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and compliance with site BPM (Best Practices & Methods).
- Foster a positive team environment through effective teamwork, strong self-management, and a proactive attitude.
- Perform all assigned tasks and responsibilities within designated work areas.
- Conduct detailed cleaning of large production areas, workspaces, and manufacturing equipment.
- Develop and apply a working knowledge of microbiology principles in a food manufacturing environment.
- Safely operate and work with all sanitation equipment used on-site.
- Work effectively in confined or enclosed spaces as required.
- Collaborate as an engaged team member within a plant environment.
- Complete all assigned tasks safely and efficiently when working within a designated area.
- Execute sanitation procedures in accordance with the Sanitation Master Program, with strict adherence to lockout/blocking and labeling procedures.
- Accurately complete all required documentation and records.
- Perform additional plant-wide duties as assigned by management.
- Follow the established chain of command: Employee → Department Lead → Department Supervisor → Department Manager.
Required Skills & Abilities
- Basic math proficiency.
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, push, and pull a minimum of 50 pounds.
- Capable of standing for extended periods during the shift.
- Ability to bend, kneel, squat, and work on concrete flooring.
- Comfort working in varying temperatures and environmental conditions.
