Job Purpose and Reporting Structure:
The Millwright will provide various mechanical, structural and rotating equipment support. The position is responsible for maintaining optimum functionality for plant equipment and systems by performing inspections, completing scheduled and unscheduled preventive maintenance measures, repairing, modifying equipment and systems, completing job cards raised by the plant and miscellaneous improvement projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Perform scheduled and reactive corrective maintenance on facility assets
- Have the capability of reading and understanding engineering drawings
- Perform scheduled preventive & predictive maintenance on facility assets as assigned
- Provide facility maintenance needs on shift work and weekends
- Participate in production meetings, plant meetings, conducting SOA’s, attend all safety training sessions and activities
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
- Use CMMS (Computer Maintenance Management System) to document job details
- Attendance is an essential function of this position due to the size of the department
- Perform in position as part of a small maintenance team that necessitates close teamwork by supporting each other.
- Regular interaction and cooperation with Production staffs, Electrical staff, Supervisory staffs and Management staff is critical.
- On larger jobs involving multiple departments, the teams will work cooperatively, equally and efficiently together until the job is completed.
- Millwrights will, on occasion, be required to assist Electrical, Production, Management or Laboratory staffs with larger jobs, projects or repairs that are unsafe for one employee to handle by themselves
- Millwrights will handle the mechanical items throughout the plant but will on occasion be requested to “Assist” the Electrical Department as well as the Electrical department “Assisting” them.
- Responsible for understanding their role in food safety, following employee good manufacturing practices, and reporting any potential food safety issues.
