Senior Accountant

Job Title: Sr. Accountant
Location/ Work Structure: Northern Cincinnati /Onsite
Compensation: $90-$120K Salary

Client Overview:
Vernovis is partnering with a publicly traded company with a rich Cincinnati heritage. The company is looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant with a strong GAAP foundation. This is a role that will work cross-functionally with leaders in the organization.

 What You'll Do:

• Support daily accounting operations, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
• Execute and support month-end close processes, ensuring adherence to strict deadlines
• Prepare and review general ledger account reconciliations using BlackLine
• Manage compensation accounting, including wages, payroll taxes, and benefit accruals
• Assist with preparation of consolidated financial statements and internal reporting packages
• Support intercompany transactions and reconciliations
• Partner with FP&A, business units, and accounting teams to gather and analyze financial data
• Serve as a liaison with external auditors; prepare audit schedules for quarterly and annual reviews
• Maintain fixed asset accounting records, including book and tax reporting
• Support SEC reporting activities, including Forms 10-Q and 10-K
• Assist with ERP-related financial processes and issue resolution (JD Edwards preferred)
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives, including automation and standardization efforts
• Support SOX compliance and remediation of internal control gaps
• Participate in special projects and strategic finance initiatives

What Experience You'll Have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Experience with payroll and benefit accounting
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

What Experience is Nice to Have:

• CPA is a plus
