Construction Site Superintendent
Position Overview
Greenport Construction Inc is primarily a mid-high end residential and light commercial remodeler and custom home builder. Our Primary work locations are in the north bay (Marin, Sonoma) and the City of San Francisco.
The Construction Site Superintendent is responsible for the day-to-day execution of construction activities on-site, ensuring that work is completed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with project plans, schedules, and GCI’s quality standards.
This role serves as the primary field leader, coordinating crews, subcontractors, and materials while maintaining clear communication with Project Management.
Key Responsibilities
Field Execution & Oversight
- Oversee daily construction activities and ensure work is progressing according to schedule
- Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and crews
- Ensure work aligns with plans, specifications, and codes
- Identify plan deficiencies or lack of detailing
- Identify Change Orders, out of original contract scope
- Identify and resolve issues as they come up in the field
- Maintain efficient work pace on job sites
Scheduling & Coordination
- Maintain daily/weekly schedules
- Coordinate trade sequencing
- Ensure materials and labor availability
- Communicate updates to PM
Quality Control
- Maintain standards of craftsmanship
- Review work for accuracy, quality, conformity and compliance
- Address deficiencies promptly
Safety & Compliance
- Enforce GCI/CAL-OSHA safety protocols are followed
- Conduct safety checks
- Maintain clean job-site, site safety, and access
Communication
- Act as on-site point of contact
- Provide updates to PM
- Communicate with clients when needed
Materials & Logistics
- Track deliveries
- Ensure proper storage
- Anticipate material needs - batch material orders, minimize hardware store runs
Documentation
- Maintain daily logs
- Ensure timely and accurate records for time-clocks and expenses
- Upload photos
- Flag risks early
Qualifications
5-10+ years experience in construction
Ability to read plans
Strong coordination skills
Comfort with digital tools
Ability/Willingness to guide crew on construction methods and practices

Organizing job sites
Clear communication
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience & Ability to produce and maintain spreadsheets in google docs or Excel.
Experience & Ability to read, maintain and create budgets
Bi-lingual is a plus
