Job Description

The Operator will support production activities in a clean, climate-controlled manufacturing environment by operating machinery, performing basic assembly and inspection tasks, and contributing to a safe and efficient workflow. This role requires hands-on work with production equipment and materials, attention to detail, and the physical ability to handle routine manufacturing duties.

Responsibilities

• Operate production machinery safely and efficiently in a manufacturing environment.
• Perform general production tasks, including basic assembly and inspection of parts and products.
• Monitor machines during operation to identify irregularities, defects, or malfunctions and report issues promptly.
• Conduct visual and manual inspections to ensure products meet quality standards and specifications.
• Follow established production processes, work instructions, and safety procedures at all times.
• Handle materials and components, including lifting items up to 50 pounds as needed.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area to support a safe and efficient operation.
• Use required personal protective equipment, including gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety shoes.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and deadlines.
• Support continuous improvement by following best practices and suggesting ideas to improve quality, safety, and productivity.

Essential Skills

• Experience with general production work, including assembly and inspection.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds safely and repeatedly during the shift.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and standard operating procedures.
• Strong attention to detail to identify defects or quality issues.
• Commitment to working safely and using required personal protective equipment.
• Reliability and punctuality to support consistent production schedules.

• Previous experience in a clean, climate-controlled manufacturing environment.
• Comfort working with production machinery and hand tools.

Work Environment

The role is based in a clean, climate-controlled manufacturing facility designed for comfort and safety. Team members use personal protective equipment, including gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toe (safety) shoes, while working around production machinery. The standard schedule is a first shift, Monday through Thursday, from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with occasional additional hours as needed. The environment emphasizes organization, cleanliness, and adherence to safety protocols to ensure a productive and secure workplace.

This is a Contract position based out of Story City, IA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00/hr.
