Position: Respiratory Therapist (RRT/CRT)
Location: Gainesville, Florida
Facility: 523-bed Acute Care Medical & Surgical Hospital
Shift: Nights (Rotating Weekends)
Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Position Overview

This opportunity is ideal for Respiratory Therapists seeking strong clinical exposure in a collaborative environment focused on patient safety, quality outcomes, and professional growth.
The Respiratory Therapist will provide both routine and critical respiratory care services while working closely with physicians and interdisciplinary teams in a fast-paced clinical setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver, set up, and maintain respiratory therapy equipment and treatments including oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, and ventilator support
- Monitor and assess patient responses to respiratory treatments and medications
- Perform and interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs)
- Provide respiratory care in critical care and acute care environments
- Educate patients, families, and clinical staff regarding respiratory treatments and procedures
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to support optimal patient outcomes
- Recognize and report patient safety concerns, including signs of abuse or neglect
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of Respiratory Therapy experience required
- ICU, CVICU, NICU, PICU, or Critical Care experience preferred
- Home care and long-term care experience considered
- CRT candidates will also be considered
- Active Florida Respiratory Therapist License required
- NBRC Credential: RRT or CRT required
- Current BLS Certification required
- ACLS certification required within 30 days of start date
- NRP certification required within 30 days of start date
- PALS certification required within 30 days of start date
Compensation & Incentives
Competitive Pay Based on Experience
- $27.4216 + $36.95/hr
Additional Compensation
- $20,000 Sign-On Bonus (Nights Only)
- Night Shift Differential: $4.25/hr
- Weekend Differential: $3.00/hr
