A day in the life

Step onto our shop floor in Monroe, CT and take ownership of a Swiss-type CNC turning cell. You’ll set up Tsugami Swiss lathes, load material, dial in tooling, and run precision parts to tight tolerances. Your day flows between reading complex blueprints, making smart offset tweaks, checking parts with micrometers and calipers, and collaborating with teammates to keep production moving smoothly—all while maintaining a spotless, safe workstation.

Core responsibilities
  • Set up and operate CNC Swiss machines to produce precision components per specifications.
  • Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to plan each job.
  • Perform in-process quality checks using precision measuring tools to verify tolerances.
  • Optimize cycle times and surface finishes by adjusting tooling and machine parameters.
  • Keep the work area organized and in compliance with safety protocols.
  • Partner with peers to troubleshoot and resolve machining challenges.
  • Document setups, production notes, and inspection results accurately.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; a machining certificate or technical degree is a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience as a CNC Swiss Machinist or comparable role.
  • Solid understanding of CNC programming concepts and machine operation.
  • Skilled at reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Comfortable using calipers, micrometers, and other precision metrology tools.
  • Strong problem solver with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Thrives both independently and on a team in a fast-paced setting.
