Kitchen Manager
Location: Garden City, NY
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Kitchen Manager to oversee back-of-house operations in a high-volume, upscale casual dining environment. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with a passion for food quality, kitchen efficiency, team development, and maintaining high operational standards.
Responsibilities
- Manage all kitchen operations, including food preparation, line execution, inventory, and sanitation
- Lead, train, and develop kitchen staff to ensure consistency and high performance
- Maintain food quality, presentation, and recipe standards
- Monitor labor costs, food costs, waste, and inventory levels
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations
- Coordinate ordering and vendor relationships to maintain proper stock levels
- Create and manage staff schedules based on business demands
- Work closely with front-of-house management to ensure seamless guest experiences
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment
- Assist with menu execution, specials, and operational improvements
Requirements
- 3+ years of kitchen management experience in a high-volume restaurant
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Experience managing labor and food cost controls
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in upscale casual or full-service dining
- Culinary training or equivalent kitchen experience
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
- Experience with inventory and scheduling systems preferred
