Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position in Goldsboro, NC, requiring at least one year of L&D experience and the ability to circulate for C-sections.
Details
- Labor & Delivery unit within a hospital setting, featuring a 6-bed department with one C-section OR
- Unit averages approximately 100 deliveries per month, working with both OBGYNs and midwives
- Responsibilities include managing laboring patients, circulating and assisting in C-sections, and recovering both labor and surgical patients
- OB triage required
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 12-hour shifts
- 36 hours per week, 3 days per week
- Every other weekend (EOW) required
- Every other holiday (EOH) required
- No on-call responsibilities
Requirements
- Active NC RN license or compact RN license with NC privileges required
- Required certifications: BLS (AHA or ARC), ACLS (AHA or ARC), NRP, NIHSS, and CPI/MAB
- Minimum 1 year of Labor & Delivery nursing experience required
- Ability to circulate for C-sections required
- Ability to triage OB patients required
- Minimum education: Nursing Diploma or ADN/ASN from an accredited nursing program (BSN or MSN preferred)
- Two professional references required for consideration
Additional Information
- Coordinate and deliver patient care using the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including OBGYNs and midwives, to support continuity of care
- Perform bedside point-of-care testing as required by patient care plans
- Address cultural and ethnic considerations in planning and delivering patient care
- Assess and anticipate discharge needs for patients and families with complex care issues
- Drug screening must be completed within 24 hours of accepting the position; allow at least 2 weeks for background check and drug screen results
- Scrubs or dress code per facility policy
