Occupational Therapist

We are seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the evaluation and treatment of patients, ensuring compliance with licensure standards and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to develop patient goals and care plans.

Job Responsibilities

• Conduct evaluations and implement treatment methods based on the patient's age, diagnosis, symptoms, and physician orders, while adhering to documentation standards.
• Orient patients and their families on therapy evaluation and treatment procedures, providing necessary education and support related to their health and well-being.
• Coordinate treatment schedules with various disciplines, ensuring effective scheduling procedures are followed.
• Monitor program effectiveness and outcomes and take the initiative in developing new treatment programs as necessary.
• Perform pain assessments and take appropriate actions in accordance with standard operating procedures.
• Document all required and pertinent patient information, including precautions, orders, and the initial plan of care accurately.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and document comprehensive discharge plans.
• Identify significant changes in patient condition and respond appropriately, ensuring proper reporting and documentation.
• Provide clinical supervision to Occupational Therapy Assistants (OTA) in accordance with state licensure and care delivery standards.
• May perform additional duties as assigned to meet departmental and organizational needs.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in an inpatient and/or outpatient setting is preferred; new graduates with relevant experience will be considered.
• Valid Occupational Therapist license from the state board of occupational therapy.
• Certified as an Occupational Therapist (OTR/L) by the National Board of Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
• A current driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
