Barista- Kansas City Community College Consolidated Management is partnering with Kansas City Kansas Community College (KCKCC). CMC is seeking a friendly, reliable, and customer-focused Barista to join our Campus Dining Services team. The Barista will prepare and serve coffee and other beverages, maintain a clean and welcoming environment, and provide excellent service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors. This position supports the college’s mission by fostering a positive campus experience through high-quality food and beverage service.

Full Time

Pay: $18 - $20 an hour (pay based on prior work experience)

Monday - Friday from 730am - 230pm

CMC is seeking a dedicated and skilled Barista to join our Food Services team. Ideal candidate will be passionate about preparing quality drinks, maintaining a clean and efficient cafe, and providing outstanding service to our students, faculty, staff, and guests.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and serve coffee, espresso drinks, teas, smoothies, and other café beverages
Operate espresso machines, grinders, and other kitchen equipment
Greet customers, take orders accurately, and handle transactions via POS system
Ensure a clean and sanitary workspace at all times, including counters, equipment, and seating areas
Restock inventory, monitor supply levels, and communicate restocking needs
Follow all health and safety regulations and college food service policies
Provide prompt, courteous, and knowledgeable service
Assist with opening and closing duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Required:

Previous customer service or food service experience
Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented
Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and stand for extended periods

Preferred:

Previous barista or café experience
Food Handler Certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire)

Work Schedule:

Varies depending on campus events and academic calendar
Typically Monday–Friday, occasional evenings/weekends Work hours (6am-2:30pm)
