About this job
1. Operates various types of electrical cleaning equipment such as automatic floor scrubbers, 20" rotary scrubbers, wet extraction devices, burnishers, vacuums, etc.
2. Scrubs or strips floor finish from hard surface floor in corridors or rooms and applies new finish.
3. Spot cleans, shampoos and extracts carpets and upholstery. Cleans walls and ceilings in the periodic and restorative ranges. Maintains supply and storage areas in good order at all times. Moves furniture as assigned or scheduled
4. Bail and empty cardboard compactor.
5. Distinguishes between preventive, routine, periodic and restorative maintenance processes and uses chemicals and work procedures appropriate to that process.
6. Reports safety hazards and items in need of repair. Complies with department assignments for fire, disaster, chemical spill or other emergencies.
7. Performs all duties in an independent manner with little or no supervision.
8. Recognizes and performs duties which need to be performed although not directly assigned, regularly helps co-workers.
9. Rotates shift as required, including weekends and holidays.
10. Wears appropriate personal protective equipment in the performance of all duties.
11. Participates in in-service educational programs and staff meetings.
12. Insures confidentiality in matters relating to customers and staff.
13. Performs all duties of the Environmental Aide.
14. Performs other work related duties as requested/directed.
• 6+ months experience in Environmental Services.
• Must be able to understand and respond to basic verbal and written English language instructions, and be able to read, understand and apply directions for proper mixing and use of chemicals
