Overview

What You'll Do

Duties

  • Implement lesson plans provided by the regular classroom teacher or develop your own based on curriculum guidelines
  • Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a safe, respectful, and productive learning environment
  • Engage students through interactive teaching methods tailored to different learning styles and developmental levels
  • Support students’ social-emotional growth by fostering positive interactions and encouraging participation
  • Assist with classroom routines such as attendance, transitions, and basic childcare responsibilities
  • Adapt instructional strategies to meet the needs of students with diverse backgrounds, including those with autism or special education requirements
  • Communicate regularly with school staff about student progress and any behavioral or academic concerns


Requirements

Qualifications

  • Prior classroom experience or background in early childhood education, literacy education, math, or special education is highly desirable
  • Strong communication skills to effectively connect with students, staff, and parents
  • Knowledge of behavior management techniques and classroom management strategies
  • Experience working with children of various ages, including preschool and elementary levels
  • Familiarity with curriculum development, lesson planning, tutoring, and working with individuals with autism is a plus
  • Ability to adapt quickly to different classroom environments and teaching styles
  • Certification or coursework in childhood development or Montessori methods is advantageous
