Bakery Delivery Driver

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Sprinkles Donut Shop is looking for a part-time bakery delivery driver responsible for transporting freshly baked goods from our Central Kitchen in Hudsonville to retail locations and wholesale customers. This role emphasizes timely, safe, and professional deliveries while maintaining product quality. The position involves flexible evening shifts starting at 1:30 am until 6:30-7:30 am, 4 days a week. The job combines driving, customer interaction, and light logistics, making it ideal for those who enjoy being on the road and working independently. A clean driving record and reliability are a must.

Duties

• Loading and Unloading: Safely load bakery products into the delivery vehicle at the start of the shift and unload them at destinations, using bakery racks to protect fragile items from damage.
• Route Management: Follow predetermined routes and schedules to ensure on-time deliveries, navigating traffic while adhering to all road rules, and minimizing mileage.
• Product Inspection: Verify the quantity, quality, and condition of baked goods before and after delivery, reporting any discrepancies or damage to bakery staff.
• Customer Service: Interact with clients at drop-off points, handle payments if required.
• Vehicle Maintenance: Keep the delivery vehicle clean, organized, and in good working order; perform basic checks like fuel and tire pressure, and report mechanical issues.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED; prior delivery or driving experience preferred but not always required (entry-level friendly).
• Licensing: Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (no major violations in the past 3-5 years).
• Skills: Strong time management, navigation proficiency (GPS familiarity), and physical stamina to lift or move full racks of donuts repeatedly.
• Personal Attributes: Reliable, punctual, customer-oriented, and able to work independently under pressure.
• Other: Must be at least 18 years old. Comfortable with early mornings or variable weather. Must be available on weekends, if needed.

Salary

• Hourly starting pay is $20 - $24 per hour.
