Social Companion/Special Needs

Our 22-year-old son with Autism is looking for a companion to assist him in navigating social situations in the community. You will help him work toward his goal of living independently, while also participating in community activities. He enjoys, karaoke, working out, going to movies, dancing, dining out and writing stories.

Responsibilities:

• Community Integration: Safely transport the client to and from the family home to community activities, appointments and events.
• Social Mentorship: Encourage social interactions, build self-advocacy skills, and help the client navigate public spaces with confidence.
• Activity Facilitation: Plan and engage in meaningful, structured, and enjoyable daily activities based on the client's interests.

Qualifications:

• Energetic, reliable person with a positive attitude
• Must pass a comprehensive background check
• Understanding and acceptance of different-abilities
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation required.
• Previous experience working with autistic young adults a bonus but not required
