Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery/Postpartum position requiring a minimum of 2 years of LDRP experience and active NC or compact RN license, working 12-hour night shifts on a 13-week contract.

Details

  • Work in a Labor & Delivery unit at a 457-bed Level 3 Trauma center designated as a Maternal Fetal Medicine Referral Center
  • Unit consists of 13 labor beds and 5 triage rooms with an average daily census of 9-10 patients
  • Patient population includes high-risk antepartum, active labor, triage, pre-eclampsia and other hypertensive disorders of pregnancy, and immediate postpartum care
  • Approximately 60-65 deliveries per month
  • RN-to-patient ratio for laboring patients is 1:1-2
  • 12-hour night shifts, 1900-0700, 36 hours per week
  • Every other weekend rotation required
  • No on-call required for travelers
  • Travelers are expected to work 75% of assigned holidays
  • Floating is required within the region and scope of practice, including facilities in Region 1: Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, Lake Norman, and Central Division (CMC Main, Mercy, and LCH - peds only); candidates who are not agreeable to floating should not apply
  • EMR: Epic (experience required)
  • Equipment includes Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, GE monitors, Monica Novii, and Neptune

Requirements

  • Active NC or compact RN license required
  • Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and EFM
  • Minimum 2 years of LDRP experience required, with most recent experience within the last year
  • Proficiency in labor management, circulating cesarean sections, pre-op and PACU care, triage, newborn resuscitation, Pitocin management, and epidural management
  • Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration
  • Minimum of 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN

Additional Information

  • Candidate's permanent address must be located more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
  • Orientation includes a general facility NEO session followed by 2 days of departmental orientation
  • Robust departmental support includes a charge nurse 24/7, OB Mentor, OB Physicians, Anesthesia/CRNA team, Scrub Tech, Secretary (M-F 8am-5pm), Respiratory Therapy 24/7, Hospitalist 24/7, Intensivist 24/7, IV/VAT Team, and Phlebotomy services
  • Green OR scrubs are provided by the hospital
  • Free parking is available on site
  • RTO of up to 6 days may be approved, excluding holidays; any missed contracted hours must be made up by extending the contract end date
  • Candidates who have previously worked a permanent position at any AHSE facility must have been separated for at least 1 year to be eligible
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
