Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position at a Level I Trauma Center, requiring prior travel experience and a minimum of 2 years of recent Med/Surg Tele experience.

Details

• Short-term acute care hospital setting at a Level I Trauma Center
• Med/Surg Telemetry unit
• Patient ratio of 1:12 utilizing a team nursing model, which effectively results in approximately 1:6 or 1:7 per RN due to caseload sharing with an LPN and Med Nurse
• Day shift schedule, 4x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:00)
• On-call required as needed
• Weekend shifts required as needed; weekend block scheduling may be considered and must be discussed during the interview
• Floating may occur between like units and campuses within 20 miles, though cross-campus floating is rare
• Cerner EMR experience preferred

Requirements

• Active RN license in Tennessee or a Compact state license currently in hand — no pending licensure accepted
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Tele experience required; 3+ years preferred
• Level I Trauma Center experience required
• Large hospital experience required
• At least one completed prior travel assignment required
• ADN or higher required for this position
• Driver's License required for consideration

Additional Information

• Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of application, as RTO requests submitted after an offer is extended will not be forwarded for approval
• If Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's fall within the assignment period, the traveler must be willing to work at least 2 of the 3 holidays; if only 2 fall within the assignment, at least 1 must be covered
• First-time travelers are generally not accepted; candidates with 5+ years of specialty experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis
• Former permanent employees or internal associate travelers must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
