Job Description
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Bring your expertise in special education to a vibrant school setting near Bennington, VT! We're seeking two dedicated professionals to serve elementary students in an onsite, full-time capacity. This contract role offers the opportunity to immediately impact the lives of exceptional learners, with the possibility of extending your work into the next academic year. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, allowing for a balanced schedule.
Your main focus will be guiding a caseload of approximately 15 students, primarily at the elementary level. Flexibility to support high school students if needed is highly valued. You’ll collaborate closely with coworkers and participate in occasional after-school meetings, scheduled ahead of time for your convenience. In this essential role, you’ll take the lead in IEP development, individualized instruction, and ongoing support to help students thrive.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teaching certification
- Experience with elementary-aged students (willingness to assist high school when required)
- Knowledge of IEP processes, progress monitoring, and data-driven instruction
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to cultivate supportive relationships with students, staff, and families
- Comfortable working onsite in an educational setting
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans
- Provide differentiated instruction and supportive interventions
- Track student progress and adjust plans as needed
- Consult and collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families
- Attend scheduled after-school meetings
- Maintain organized documentation and comply with state and federal regulations
