Job Title: Assembler
Job Description
The Assembler works in a fast-paced production environment, using material lists, blueprints, and assembly drawings to accurately build, test, and package products. In this role, you gather materials, operate hand and power tools, perform assembly and repair operations, and carry out inspections to ensure products meet quality specifications. Assemblers may work in different departments, including IMC Assembly and Roto Assembly, and receive cross-training to perform a variety of tasks throughout the day.
Responsibilities
- Work from material lists, blueprints, and assembly drawings to correctly assemble products.
- Gather and organize the correct materials and components needed for each assembly.
- Retrieve products from a conveyor belt and insert or adjust internal linings as required.
- Assemble and install handles, pins, and other hardware components onto products.
- Insert foam and other internal materials into products, then package and prepare them for shipment.
- Rotate between multiple assembly sections in IMC Assembly to perform varied tasks throughout the shift.
- In Roto Assembly, set up and maintain an assigned bench to complete assembly tasks.
- Use hand and power tools safely and effectively to complete assembly operations.
- Review and interpret prints and measurements, including using a tape measure, to ensure accuracy.
- Follow product specifications and standard operating procedures to maintain quality standards.
- Perform tests and inspections on assembled products to verify functionality and compliance with specs.
- Identify and perform basic repair operations when needed to correct defects or issues.
- Follow verbal and written instructions accurately to complete work assignments.
- Collaborate with team members and work effectively in a production line environment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with workplace guidelines.
Essential Skills
- Experience using hand tools in a production or similar environment.
- Experience using power tools safely and effectively.
- Ability to read and follow blueprints or assembly drawings.
- Ability to follow verbal instructions accurately.
- Ability to follow written instructions accurately.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team on an assembly line.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced manufacturing or assembly setting.
- Ability to use a tape measure and perform basic measurements.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure products meet specifications.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Trade school education or technical training is a plus.
- Automotive experience is beneficial for understanding mechanical assemblies.
- Prior assembly experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Blueprint reading skills beyond basic familiarity are an advantage.
- Willingness to be cross-trained across multiple assembly areas and tasks.
- Openness to working different shifts based on business needs.

Work Environment
The work environment is a clean, organized, and well-lit production facility. Assemblers work at benches and along conveyor lines in departments such as IMC Assembly and Roto Assembly. The setting is fast-paced and team-oriented, with cross-training across different sections of the assembly line to keep tasks varied throughout the day. You regularly use hand tools, power tools, measuring tools such as tape measures, and follow printed assembly drawings and specifications. Multiple shifts are available, including 1st shift (approximately 6:00am–2:00pm, Monday through Friday), 2nd shift (approximately 2:00pm–10:00pm, Monday through Friday), and 3rd shift (approximately 10:00pm–6:00am, Sunday through Thursday). The facility supports a collaborative culture, with an on-site gym and organized work areas that promote safety, efficiency, and comfort during your shift.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Greenfield, MA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $23.20/hr.
