American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 1+ year of experience for a night shift inpatient position requiring Epic EMR proficiency and a valid Illinois RCP license.

- Inpatient respiratory therapy unit at an acute care hospital \n
- Night shift schedule: 5:30 PM – 6:00 AM \n
- 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, 36 hours per week \n
- Rotating weekend and holiday coverage required \n
- 13-week contract \n
- No floating required \n
- Epic EMR — experience required \n

- Associate's degree or Certificate in Respiratory Therapy \n
- Minimum 1 year of experience in respiratory therapy, including ventilator management, ECG, oxygen administration, and airway management \n
- Basic knowledge of pulmonary and cardiovascular anatomy and physiology \n
- Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications (American Heart Association) \n
- NBRC Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential \n
- Illinois RCP license required — temporary license accepted if applicable \n
- Epic EMR experience required \n
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible \n

- Administer oxygen therapy using various delivery devices and manage mechanical ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP, and Optiflow systems \n
- Assist with intubation and perform endotracheal and tracheostomy care, including extubation procedures \n
- Administer respiratory medications and monitor for adverse effects requiring physician notification \n
- Perform 12-lead EKGs for physician interpretation and conduct arterial punctures and arterial line draws \n
- Utilize bronchial hygiene techniques including postural drainage, chest percussion, and airway suctioning \n
- Perform pulmonary function testing and operate related department equipment \n
- Confer with and carry out physician orders related to all aspects of patient respiratory care \n
- May oversee certified and non-certified technicians performing procedures requiring advanced expertise \n
- RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract \n
- Candidates who have been on continuous assignment with this health system for 1 year must take a 6-month break in service before returning to any of the system's locations \n
- Interviews are conducted by facility leadership prior to selection \n
