Position: Registered Nurse – Cardiology 

Location: Larkspur, CA 94939 

Duration: 13 weeks (Contract) 

Schedule: Full-Time, 40 hours/week 

Shift: Days; 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM (8-hour shift) 

Holidays: None

 

Education
  • BSN degree highly preferred
Experience
  • Minimum of two years’ cardiovascular clinic and/or hospital nursing experience
  • Two years’ experience in a critical care or cardiac inpatient unit preferred
  • Two years’ experience with telemetry monitoring preferred
Licensure & Certifications
  • Current Registered Nurse license in California
  • BLS and ACLS certification required
Responsibilities
  • Provide pre- and post-op education for Cardiology and Electrophysiology (EP) procedures
  • Educate patients about cardiovascular conditions and explain treatment options as directed by cardiologists or electrophysiologists
  • Teach patients preventive measures, importance of self-monitoring, and provide appropriate resources
  • Triage patients’ physical symptoms/arrhythmias and consult with cardiologists/electrophysiologists per protocol
  • Cover RN Testing Center and Cardiac PET CT Imaging procedures when needed
  • Participate in Transition of Care Management to ensure discharge medications and instructions are understood by patients/families
  • Update medication and problem lists in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) and ensure follow-up with cardiologists
  • Review daily lab/test results, physician tasks, and clinical worklists as assigned
  • Assist Nurse Supervisor/Director with nursing practice matters and contribute to policy/protocol development
  • Maintain professional development and continuing education requirements
  • Ensure patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA
  • Perform other duties as assigned
