Summary:
The Activities Aide for the Mid Coast Senior Health Center supports the Manager of Social Events & Volunteers as well as Social Events Coordinators in providing meaningful, purposeful and fun activities for residents. Recognizing that every interaction with a resident is an activity, the Activity Aide helps to plan and deliver a daily calendar of activities that incorporates individual interests and addresses the physical, mental,, emotional and spiritual needs of each resident. The Activity Aide will spent 70% of their time interacting with residents and 30% working on documentation, planning and organizing.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
- Education: Coursework in Recreational Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Exercise Physiology, Sociology, Education, Social Work or other healthcare field preferred.
- License/Certifications: N/A
- Experience: Experience in a clinical setting working with the elderly preferred. Experience working with people with dementia in a residential setting preferred.
