What You’ll Do

  • Assist residents/patients with daily living activities including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current and valid CNA certification in Texas.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a state-approved nurse assistant training program.
  • Basic life support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain upon hire.
  • Ability to pass a background check and meet health screening requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a hospital, nursing home, or long-term care facility.
  • Additional certifications such as CPR or first aid.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills developed through prior healthcare experience.
  • Bilingual abilities to support diverse patient populations.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist patients with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding.
  • Monitor and record vital signs such as temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure, reporting any abnormalities to nursing staff.
  • Provide mobility assistance, including helping patients move safely within their environment and supporting physical therapy exercises as directed.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for patients by following infection control protocols and hospital policies.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure coordinated and compassionate care.

Skills:

The CNA utilizes strong interpersonal skills daily to build trust and rapport with patients, ensuring their emotional and physical needs are met with empathy and respect. Attention to detail is critical when monitoring vital signs and observing changes in patient conditions, enabling timely communication with the healthcare team. Physical stamina and dexterity are essential for assisting patients with mobility and personal care safely and effectively. Effective communication skills facilitate collaboration with nurses, doctors, and family members to provide coordinated care. Additionally, familiarity with healthcare protocols and documentation practices supports accurate record-keeping and compliance with regulatory standards.
