Description
American Traveler is hiring a GI/Endoscopy RN for a 13-week travel contract at a hospital-based endoscopy unit in northern New York, requiring at least 1 year of experience and availability for weekend and on-call coverage.
Details
- Hospital-based endoscopy unit performing both inpatient and outpatient procedures
- Procedures include colonoscopy, EGD, ERCP, dilations (CRE balloon), EBUS, EUS, esophageal foreign body removal, and bronchoscopy
- Experience with a wide range of endoscopy equipment required, including endoscopes, colonoscopes, bronchoscopes, EGD scopes, EBUS/EUS scopes, flex sigmoidoscopes, fluoroscopy equipment (C-arm), ERBE portable electrosurgical units, and electrosurgical units
- Specimen handling includes bronchoscopy, cytology, frozen section, gastric brushing, and pathology specimens
- Charting via Provation
- Day shift schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM (5x8-hour shifts)
- Some weekend call required, plus one night of call every 7–12 days
Requirements
- Active NY RN license required
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of GI/endoscopy RN experience
- Proficiency with high-level disinfection (HLD), instrument processing and cleaning, and sterilization/disinfection protocols
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include procedure setup, scope and instrument cleaning and processing, room restocking, closing of room at end of day, and adherence to Universal Protocol (Time Out)
- Scrubs are provided by the facility
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Maximum of 7 days of RTO for the duration of the contract; all time-off requests must be submitted prior to or at the time of consideration
- Local candidates are not accepted; must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
