Maintenance Technician
Shift/Hours: Monday – Friday, various hours
Pay Rate: $24 - $27/ hour , DOE
Location: Houston, TX 77013
Experience: Minimum of one year of experience fixing machines
Job Overview
Responsible for performing general maintenance and repairs of equipment. Perform duties including housekeeping. Applying basic fixes to equipment and building systems and troubleshoots issues to determine necessary repairs.
Responsibilities and Duties
Inspect and identify equipment or machines in need of repair
Troubleshoots issues to determine necessary repairs
Assist warehouse maintenance person with the following:
Clean grease machines on a weekly basis
Inspect hoists and forklift as needed
Assist cleaning DCU ducts weekly
Perform minor fixes such as repairing broken locks, filling gaps on walls
Collaborate with others to ensure issues and repairs are being done
Check the functionality of safety systems
General cleaning of the building and keeping it maintained and in good condition
Keep track of replacements parts for machines and advise when warehouse supplies
need to be ordered
Cross train on equipment
Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly inspections, including machines, forklift, filters, etc.
Perform other duties as assigned
Physical Demands
Work in and performed while standing, sitting, and walking
Requires the ability to communicate effectively
Requires bending, squatting, and reaching
Requires activities involving being around moving machinery, exposure to marked
changes in temperature and humidity, exposure to dust and hot environment.
Heat and cold weather exposure
Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) such as respirator and
sound protection
Pushing, pulling, lifting up to 50 lbs.
Abilities
Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
Experience using hand and electrical tools
Organizational Skills
Knowledge of OSHA regulations
Communication Skills
Work effectively in fast paced environment
Work effectively as part of a team
Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others
Dependable and reliable
Language: English or Bilingual English/Spanish
Experience
Minimum three to four years of experience
