Position Overview
The Outside Sales Training Manager will lead the development and execution of training programs for Bulldog/ADT’s field sales representatives. This role is responsible for driving sales performance through effective onboarding, coaching, and continuous learning initiatives tailored to the security and smart home industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver training programs for outside (field) sales representatives across
- assigned regions
- Maintain a minimum of 12 personal installed sales monthly within your own sales territory
- Manage onboarding and ramp-up programs for new hires in direct sales channels
- Conduct field ride-alongs to coach reps on sales techniques, product positioning, and closing skills
- Develop training content focused on home security systems, smart home technology, and consultative selling
- Partner with Regional Sales Directors to identify performance gaps and training opportunities
- Implement structured sales methodologies and ensure consistent execution in the field
- Track KPIs (conversion rates, revenue per rep, close ratios) and measure training effectiveness
- Facilitate workshops on objection handling, in-home selling, and customer trust-building
- Stay current on competitive offerings and industry trends in home security
Qualifications - 1+ years of outside sales experience (preferably in security, telecom, or in-home services)
- 2+ years of sales training, coaching, or leadership experience
- Proven success in a commission-driven sales environment
- Strong knowledge of in-home sales processes and territory management
- Excellent presentation, facilitation, and coaching skills
Preferred Experience - Background in home security, alarms, or smart home solutions
- Experience training door-to-door or in-home sales teams
- Familiarity with CRM tools (e.g., Canvass) and Security Trax platforms
- Experience working in high-volume, fast-paced sales organizations
