Job Description
Manufacturing Engineer- Tool & Die
· Support tooling design reviews to ensure manufacturability and process robustness.
· Monitor tool construction progress and verify compliance with program requirements and standards.
· Coordinate tool tryout activities and support die prove-out to achieve dimensional quality and run-at-rate capability.
· Identify and resolve tooling issues impacting timing, quality, or manufacturability.
· Support build events, PSW readiness, and launch milestones.
· Track and support resolution of Yellow Items and other tooling risks.
· Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, program managers, and tool shops to ensure tooling readiness.
· Document tooling issues and support corrective action implementation.
Skills Required:
· Mechanical Engineering
· Strong background in stamping tooling construction, tryout, and die development.
· Experience working with automotive tool shops and production stamping processes.
· Understanding of die build, tryout, and production readiness requirements.
· Ability to identify tooling risks and support resolution activities.
· Experience working within structured tooling or launch processes (Stamping Tooling Specialist (STS) or similar).
· Strong technical problem-solving and communication skills.
Experience Required:
· Strong background in stamping tooling construction, tryout, and die development.
· Experience working with automotive tool shops and production stamping processes.
· Understanding of die build, tryout, and production readiness requirements.
· Ability to identify tooling risks and support resolution activities.
· Experience working within structured tooling or launch processes (STS or similar).
· Strong technical problem-solving and communication skills.
Experience Preferred:
· BSc, Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial OR Electrical preferred).
· Experience supporting automotive program launches.
· Familiarity with global tool shop operations.
· Understanding of part quality requirements and dimensional validation processes.
· Continuous improvement or lean manufacturing experience.
Education Required:
· Bachelor's Degree, Associate Degree
