Job Summary
As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our providers and ensuring a positive patient experience. You will assist with both clinical and administrative duties while helping maintain efficient office operations.
Responsibilities
- Room patients and obtain vital signs
- Prepare charts and review patient information prior to appointments
- Assist providers during examinations and procedures
- Administer injections and perform basic clinical tasks as directed
- Collect and document patient histories
- Coordinate laboratory testing and communicate results as directed
- Process prescription refill requests
- Answer phones and assist patients with scheduling needs
- Manage incoming faxes, scan documents, and maintain accurate medical records
- Assist with prior authorizations and referrals
- Help support billing and revenue cycle activities, including reviewing documentation for completeness
- Maintain exam rooms and clinical supplies
- Follow HIPAA and all applicable healthcare regulations
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Medical Assistant certification preferred but not required
- Previous medical office experience required
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
- Current BLS certification preferred
