Job Description
3 Jays Enterprise LLC is seeking a reliable, fast-paced, and detail-oriented Line Cook / Chef to join our team at the War Hawk Cafe in Omaha, Nebraska. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality menu items, maintaining a spotless kitchen environment, and ensuring top-tier service for our military community and guests.
The ideal candidate thrives during busy breakfast and lunch rushes, takes pride in consistent food quality, and strictly follows food safety guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
Food Preparation & Cooking: Prep and cook menu items according to established recipes, portion controls, and presentation standards.
Station Management: Set up, stock, and maintain the hot and cold line stations for efficient short-order assembly.
Speed & Consistency: Ensure all orders are completed accurately and served hot to guests in a fast-casual environment.
Sanitation & Safety: Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized workstation. Strictly adhere to all local health department and military installation food safety regulations.
Stock Rotation: Assist with checking in deliveries, stocking inventory, and practicing proper food rotation (FIFO).
Equipment Care: Safely operate, clean, and maintain standard commercial kitchen equipment.
Qualifications & Requirements
Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of experience as a Line Cook, Prep Cook, or Short Order Chef in a high-volume or fast-casual kitchen.
Base Access: Must be able to successfully pass a federal background check to secure and maintain necessary access to the military installation.
Certifications: Valid Food Handler’s Certification required (ServSafe or local equivalent).
Skills: Strong multitasking abilities, knowledge of food safety principles, and the ability to work cohesively in a small team.
Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and handle a hot kitchen environment.
