Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position at a Critical Access Hospital in Kodiak Island, AK, with facility-provided housing and a vehicle included.
Details
- Labor and Delivery unit within an acute care medical center designated as a Level IV Trauma, Critical Access Hospital with 46 acute care beds
- Variable 3x12-hour shifts, available on day (7:00–19:00) and night (19:00–7:00) rotations
- Weekend shifts are required
- Floating between all facilities within the state is expected; refusal to float may result in assignment termination
- Charting is performed in Epic (experience required)
- No on-call requirement
- Free on-site parking available
Requirements
- Active Alaska (AK) RN license required — pending licenses are not accepted
- Active certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring
- Minimum 1 year of L&D experience required
- Epic EMR proficiency required
- At least 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty or setting
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
- Valid driver's license and proof of insurance (including rental car coverage) required prior to operating the facility-provided vehicle
- Candidate's permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- The facility provides housing (typically a 1-bedroom apartment) and a vehicle for use during the assignment — pets are not allowed in housing units, and bringing additional family members requires facility approval
- The facility-provided vehicle is for local use only and may not be taken off-road or beyond a 30-mile radius from the facility; vehicle must be returned clean and with a full tank of gas
- Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
- RTO is minimal — a small number of days may be approved, but significant RTO requests are discouraged; all RTO must be disclosed at time of submission
- Scrub color is open (any color) or business casual attire is acceptable
