Job Description
CNC Lathe Set-up Person and Operator
Essential Functions:
· Understand and execute company prints, drawings, and instructions
· CNC turning machine experience is required.
· Install and adjust tools frequently to ensure accuracy and quality.
· Understand and use precision measuring equipment.
· Knowledge of standard CNC Turning Machine practices and tooling.
· Able to read blueprints and perform basic Math calculations.
· Must have the necessary skills to evaluate and make proper adjustments to continue to produce quality parts and troubleshoot machining issues.
· Able to bend, lift (34 lbs. max, 1.375 steel hex bar 6ft.), stand, push, and pull; on occasion.
· Basic English language skills. Must be able to communicate with supervisor.
· Understand standard CNC turning machine practices, tooling, and operation of CNC turning equipment.
Job Requirements:
· Understand and be able to use precision measuring equipment.
· Install and adjust tools frequently to ensure accuracy and quality.
· Be able to read G-code programs is not necessary, but a plus.
· Operate CNC 2-axis Lathe Machine, and drill presses
· Can pay attention to detail and follow work procedures and company policies.
· Move machine controls to adjust the machine
· Operate machine tools such as lathes.
· Set up the machine tools
· Set up and operate another machine tool during machining cycles
· Set or reset the machine to the required machining sequence to machine parts within tolerance
· Clean machine, tooling, and parts
· Set up and operate the assigned equipment necessary to machine component parts
· Inspect parts as they exit the machine
· Read and interpret machine parts drawing specifications
· Operating equipment and machine tools
· Adjust machine settings to machine parts according to specifications and to maximize machining capabilities
· Start the machine and observe the cutting operation
· Set up tooling
· Fabricate parts to specifications on blueprints
· Set up and operate computer numerical control machines
· Select appropriate set-up tooling and fixtures for machines
· Determine the accuracy of machine operation
· Produce parts within required tolerances
