Job Overview:
This position works with senior management to ensure the strategic implementation and financial goal attainment of continuous improvement (Six Sigma or Lean) and Cost Reduction initiatives.
Scope:
This position leads Productivity efforts for the West Region, including personally leading large and complex Productivity improvement projects as well as managing a small team of Productivity Specialists. This position will also:
Lead projects/events using a variety of Productivity tools resulting in significant operating profit improvement.
Provides consultative advice within a specific functional or business area.
Communicates and exhibits action and compelling need for change.
Standardizes best practice problem-solving approaches.
Enforces process discipline.
Responsible for Key Performance Indicators and Regional reporting.
Reporting Relationships:
This position will report to the Director of Productivity for the West Region. This position will have 3-4 direct reports but is required to work alongside and successfully influence others without having direct personnel management responsibilities. Will also act as an internal consultant to other Productivity professionals and their project teams.
Primary Responsibilities:
Accountable for Annual Region Cost Savings Target
Application of Lean and/or Six Sigma tools as Project Lead
Ensures Lean and Six Sigma activities are aligned with region strategies and activities
Works with assigned client groups in developing project ideas and chartering projects
Executes <$1MM Productivity projects in conjunction with other groups
Develops productivity alternatives with appropriate risk profiles and/or identifies actions to mitigate risks
May influence outcomes within broad area of responsibility and/or beyond client group
Monitors best practices and external/internal trends and makes recommendations to improve productivity procedures, methods, and tools
Provides mentorship to client Green Belts
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
5+ years Business/Project Management experience with demonstrated leadership skills
Bachelor's degree preferably chemical or mechanical engineering, or equivalent technical learning experience
Strong analytical skills, interpersonal skills, and the ability to influence others
Strong understanding of Microsoft Excel and use of statistical software
Willingness to travel at least 25% - 35%
Willingness to work out of the Tempe, AZ Region office or an Area Plant in the West Region, options include Tacoma, WA, Hillsboro, OR, Pittsburg, CA, Wilmington, CA, Ontario, CA, Phoenix, AZ, Magna, UT, or Loveland, CO.
Preferred Qualifications:
Air Separation, Carbon Dioxide, and Hydrogen Production Process Knowledge
Prior management experience
Proven track record of leading teams, as well as influencing others without direct authority
Lean Six Sigma Project Lead (as Black Belt or Green Belt) experience
Experience using statistical software and regression analysis tools
Black Belt Certification
Project Management Professional Certification and/or equivalent project management experience

Salary:
Pay commensurate with experience. Open to salary range $125,475 - $184,030.
