Job Description
We are looking for a dependable Test Center Administrator to support a secure and detail-oriented testing environment in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This is a Contract, part-time opportunity with variable hours, generally up to 20 hours per week, and may include Saturday, evening, and occasional Sunday coverage based on site needs. The person in this role will combine customer-facing support with careful exam oversight to ensure each candidate has a consistent and compliant testing experience.
Responsibilities:
• Welcome test takers, confirm their identification, and guide them through the check-in process with accuracy and care.
• Enforce testing procedures by completing security screenings, including the use of screening devices when required.
• Observe candidates throughout their exams and respond promptly to concerns, irregularities, or disruptions.
• Protect the integrity of the testing site by securing exam materials, monitoring room activity, and documenting incidents that fall outside established guidelines.
• Provide a fair, calm, and supportive experience for all examinees while upholding standardized testing rules.
• Prepare routine records and detailed written reports related to candidate activity, exceptions, and daily operations.
• Assist with administrative and front-desk tasks such as answering inquiries, scanning documents, and supporting general office workflow.
• Handle light operational duties, including packing or unpacking equipment and assisting with basic workstation upkeep in the testing area.
• Work a flexible schedule based on site operations, with availability for weekdays, Saturdays, and other shifts as needed.
• Complete candidate biometric or digital identity steps, such as fingerprint capture, when required at the site.• High school diploma or equivalent is required; additional college coursework is helpful.
• At least 1 year of in-person customer service experience in settings such as retail, hospitality, front desk, or similar environments is required.
• Must meet the minimum age requirement for the position.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with candidates and team members.
• Comfortable using Windows-based computer systems and common office applications, including Microsoft Office, Outlook, and web browsers.
• Able to manage multiple tasks in a structured environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
• Capable of standing or remaining stationary for extended periods, walking through the testing room regularly, and escorting candidates as needed.
• Able to bend, stoop, work in tight spaces, and lift up to 40 pounds while supporting equipment handling and test center operations.
