\nJob Summary:
\nThe House Coverage APP is an independent health care provider who coordinates emergent inpatient care through collaboration with the attending Physician The PA or APN provides care in accordance with the objectives policies and procedures of the practice and the New Jersey State Board of Medical Examiners Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner Advisory Committee
\nAs Lead APP on the team additional responsibilities include creating the monthly team schedule assisting in filling schedule gaps assisting with payroll assisting with providing team educational opportunities and being an active member of the APP Practice Council as well as various hospital committees

\nEssential Functions
\nDemonstrates an ability to organize and achieve quality performance in new routine
\nDemonstrates effectiveness in coordinating aspects of patient care
\nPerforms appropriate assessments and treatment for patients
\nPerforms appropriate interpretation of laboratory/diagnostic testing
\nPerforms basic bedside procedures such as central line removal feeding tube insertion rhino rocket insertion etc
\nAppropriately directs patient care during a rapid response as well as code stroke code MI and code sepsis
\nDemonstrates strong organizational skills communicates effectively and demonstrates time management
\nPerforms duties independently and coordinates care with the bedside nurse attending physician and other consulting providers
\nThe ability to compassionately interact with patients across different areas of care
\nRecognizes areas for improvement in policies or patient care initiates change and educates all involved in change
\nRegularly communicates with nursing staff concerning patient care issues
\nThoroughly explains procedures to patients prior to testing
\nProvides appropriate patient teaching as necessary
\nAbility to perform proper medical clearances for inpatient psychiatric patients
\nJob Requirements
\nAcute care certification preferred
\nFCCS certification preferred
\n1 to 2 years acute care hospital experience preferred
\nCurrent APN or PA certification
\nCurrent NJ state license CDS and DEA
\nCurrent BLS and ACLS required
\n
